India successfully shot down all Pakistani drones and missiles in mid-air, with no casualties reported in Jammu and Kashmir. J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is heading to Jammu to review the situation.
According to reports from Jammu, the attack was stopped using a combination of S-400 missile defense systems, Surface-to-Air Missiles (SAMs), and the Integrated Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (ICM).
Pakistan launched its first major airborne attack on Jammu, targeting areas like Satwari near Jammu Airport, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia, and military bases in Udhampur and Pathankot. The attack began around 8 PM and lasted for 30 minutes, during which sirens were sounded and blackouts were enforced for safety.
India’s armed forces, already on high alert after recent strikes in Pakistan and PoK, responded swiftly. Using S-400s, SAMs, and ICM systems, they intercepted and destroyed all incoming missiles and drones mid-air.
There were no casualties or damage. Eight missiles were confirmed downed, and all drones were neutralized. Debris fell in parts of Katra, Udhampur, and Jammu.
The Defence Ministry said the threat was neutralized using a mix of advanced technology and physical force. Residents reported seeing flares and hearing blasts, with many sharing videos online.
Tensions have risen sharply, with 13 people killed in the Poonch shelling. The area has been hit the hardest, and many residents have been evacuated to safer places or moved in with relatives. Those injured are being treated at various hospitals in Jammu.
